Look! Over there!! ........ Holy Distraction Batman!

"just get him out of the house from 9am to 6pm" was my part in the conspiracy that was to be Jon's 40th birthday party. It sounded easy - Whistler!! Except the weather was shite all week and apparently there was new snow down to the bike park!! Enlisting Rich's help, I managed to talk Jon into a Squamish ride in the rain. And off we went. In the rain. And arrived, in the rain.






As we sat in the van in the Squamish parking lot we were all THINKING the same thing: "bugger that for a game of soldiers, lets go home" but unfortunately for all of us, Rich and I had to SEEM perky and optimistic enough to drag Jon-I-dont-ride-in-the-rain-Mepham round the trails for a few hours!





As luck would have it (or maybe it's kalma) a few minutes into the ride and the rain stopped and we had a truly great ride. The trails were minty, grippy and as flowy as a flowy thing. Because of the threat of rain I didnt manage to get my camera out until we were nearly done - in fact all the pictures are of a climb! I guess it makes a change - Enjoy the green mossyness for yourselves.... it looks cool in the pictures but trust, me they dont do it justice, its beautiful up close and personal
